This is why we need competition

In 2005 Taylor Reynolds, a telecoms analyst for The Organisation for Economic alt
Co-operation and Development (OECD) said that competition will always produce aggressive price reductions and better services in the broadband market. Nine years later, this still remains true.

The South African communications field contains both monopoly players and competitive markets. If Reynolds is correct, we should see lower prices and better services in competitive areas, but not where one player dominates.
