Since starting Connection Telecom in 2004 we have not seen anything like the level of market adoption and growth that we have seen this year.
We currently support more than 20,000 extensions over 1,400 sites. And we have around 1,000 additional sites planned for 2013 already.
Many of our customers are seeing significant commercial benefits since introducing our cloud-based open standards PBX solution. Five areas in particular have had a big impact:
• Our least cost routing replacement solution that covers all outbound calls at the best rates in the market: Our current rate to MTN/Vodacom is 75c per minute billed per second, which will be reduced to 63c from March 2013. This normally yields a saving in call costs in excess of 20% against any other large supplier.
• Zero rate communities between branches and head office - and extending that community to suppliers: This yields approximately a 15% cost saving to large companies.
• Where needed, we extend a very cost effective PBX over the same network infrastructure.
• An overall reduction in telecoms infrastructure rental costs – and we maintain two routes into and out of the site, with automatic failover.
• Significantly improved functionality in the PBX: Our system includes features like alerts; call recording; real time access to call costs; easy additions, moves and changes; etc.
We recently migrated our primary data centre from Samrand to Teraco in Isando. This created site redundancy - and improved network quality and redundancy. Most customers can expect to benefit from overall improved service. It’s also given easier access to our key channel partners, who include EOH and Bytes technologies.
We have also recently launched our hosted contact centre. Two of our key customers, TakeALot and Old Mutual Finance have found the solution to be very elegant and cost effective. Next year we will be launching our Business Intelligence tool, which will give our customers a much better view of the call patterns in their businesses.
We thank all our customers, partners and suppliers for your continued support and custom and wish you and your businesses much success in 2013!
